Pre-Sermon Exhortation and Prayer

There must be a price to pay for glory
- Suffering is a price to pay for those who want glory [Mat 20:20-23; 2Tim 2:3; 3:12; Rev 3:14-19].
  - Rev 3:14-19: Refining by fire is suffering
- Those who labour in the Church would be considered worthy of more glory than those who do not [Dan 12:3; 2Tim 2:6: Rev 20:4].
- Prayer: Yahweh make us willing and able to pay the price for glory

The principalities and powers have influence over world events and so they possess the ability conceal certain aspects of history. This is why there’s uncertainty about the existence of Darius the Mede [Dan 9:1].
When angels are around, there usually is no delay in getting answers to prayers. Miracles also tend to be more frequent when they are around. This seen
- In the story of the Angel of Yahweh being at work among the children of Israel in the wilderness. Their requests were heard and answered quickly. Even Moses said that no nation was like Israel that had their God so close to them [Deu 4:7; 23:12-14; Isa 63:12]
- In the 1^st year of Darius the Mede, an angel of God was present [Dan 11:1] to assist him (Darius). This was the same year Daniel had the revelation of the 4 beasts and the Son of Man, that same year Daniel understood the writing of Jeremiah and had the angel Gabriel was given the answer to Daniel’s request. However, the angel wasn’t present in the 3^rd year of Cyrus and so there was a 21-day delay before Daniel could get the answer to his prayer [Dan 10:1-21]
Beelzebub means prince of flies.
